ALL-CONQUERING Dunnington Primary School are sporting a new look as they embark on defending their six football trophies.
The village team swept the board in primary school football last season, winning their York & District League division, the North Yorkshire Schools’ FA tournament, the York & District Champions League and the St Olave’s Primary Cup, plus the cup and plate at the Queen Ethelburga’s tournament.
The success on the field brought rewards off the pitch in the form of sponsorship for a new kit from local firm Parkinson, which helped to build parts of the school in the last decade.
Steve Jackson, a parent at Dunnington and regional director of Parkinson, said: “At Parkinson, we are incredibly proud to be associated with such success and feel as though the children deserved the reward of a new kit to help lead them on to further glory.”
Teacher and coach Phil Martinez added: “We are very thankful to the company for getting us the kit. They can have great pride in what they are wearing.”
