TADCASTER Magnets were seven-wicket winners over Acomb II in the final of cricket’s Stephensons Estate Agents Junior Charity Cup at Osbaldwick.
Batting first, Acomb posted 116-7 in their 16 eight-ball overs, with James Fletcher contributing 52 while Magnets’ Paul Downey took 3-15 from four overs.
In reply, Tadcaster reached 118-3 thanks to Rory Coe’s unbeaten 38 and Ed Day’s knock of 38. Chris Green returned figures of 2-25 for Acomb.
Downey was named man of the match for his bowling performance.
The trophies and prize money were presented by Ian Reynolds, senior partner of the sponsors.
