FRIENDS and relatives of former Selby district and North Yorkshire County Councillor Margaret Hulme, who died last month, have gathered to pay their respects.
Coun Hulme was 81 when she died in June, after she became ill with pneumonia while on a family holiday to Crete.
Coun Hulme, represented the South Selby division of North Yorkshire County Council, and had served Selby rural between 1991 and 1993 and Selby South from 1997 to her death.
Hundreds of people gathered at Selby Abbey on Sunday, for a service celebrating Coun Hulme’s life.
Coun Hulme is survived by her husband Michael, who was a Selby GP, and their children.
