POLICE want to speak to a group of youths following a fire on York Knavesmire.
About £400 damage was caused after a number of portable toilets were set alight.
Witnesses said a group of three youths wearing grey hooded tops was seen leaving the area in the direction of Scarcroft Hill after the incident at about 9.45pm on Thursday, July 11.
PC Ben Pepper, of York Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “This is a pointless act of vandalism which has caused inconvenience for racegoers. If you have any information that could help with this investigation I ask that you contact the police straight away.”
