FITNESS fans in York raised more than £1,100 in a sponsored spinathon to help fund an operation to help a two-year boy walk unaided.
Oliver Rushton, of Barnoldswick, near Skipton, has cerebral palsy which makes him unable to stand or walk independently. Family and friends have launched a £25,000 appeal for a a life changing operation called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy.
The York event, which took place at Roko gym at Clifton Moor at the weekend, was organised by Oliver’s aunt, Louise Farrar, of York.
A fund has been set up at Llloyds TSB – sort code 777617, account number 13689468.
