COUN Anna Semlyen (Letters, July 15) seems to be rather out of touch with what is happening in her ward.
There is already a gardening group that meets monthly to maintain the large flower bed at Woodthorpe shops. The other beds are maintained by West Thorpe Scouts and Woodthorpe School. The ‘Woodthorpe Weeders’ are considering applying for a grant from the ward committee but, due to Labour’s changes to the arrangements for grants, they have to find an organisation to process the money.
New gardeners are welcome on the first Saturday in the month starting at 9.30am. Bring your gardening gloves!
