A YOUNG singer-songwriter has lived her dream by performing at the Glastonbury Festival and is looking forward to a summer of local gigs.
Pip Mountjoy, from Little Fencote, between Bedale and Northallerton, plays guitar and ukulele and has been writing songs and playing gigs since she was 13.
She said: “It was amazing to play at Glastonbury – it is my favourite place in the world.
“It was the biggest gig I have done so far and the crowd was great.”
The former Richmond School pupil, now 19, said most of her writing is inspired by nature and said it is “very northern”.
“I have a lot of gigs lined up for the summer now including my first headline gig at The Black Swan, York, on August 10, and at Druids Temple, Masham, on August 4. It’s a really exciting time.”
Miss Mountjoy was put forward for her Glastonbury gig as part of BBC Introducing after being nominated by Bob Fischer.
