IT was nice to see a photo of Tommy Forgan again, (Tommy Forgan is willing Michael Ingham to break York City record, June 21).
I must have been about 12 years old when he was part of the team that very nearly won the FA Cup for York City.
We beat Notts County 1-0 in the sixth round, and that is centre-half Allan Stewart on the right of the picture.
I remember Tommy would sometimes pull the crossbar down a little to save having to tip a shot over for a corner; while, for penalties he would crouch, ready to spring at the ball when it was kicked. Those were great days at the club.
