THIEVES stole two canoes from a house in Selby.
They were taken from a shed in the rear garden of a property in Sycamore Close between 4pm on Saturday and 4.30pm on Sunday.
One was a red, heavy-duty canoe, while the other was a silver racing canoe with a yellow line along it and a plastic toggle.
Police believe the thieves may have paddled the canoes along the river, which runs alongside the property. PC Peter Cooper, of Selby Police, said: “These were bulky items to conceal and I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen them being loaded onto a vehicle or being paddled off down the river which runs near to Sycamore Close. They will be difficult to conceal and obvious to spot, and anyone who has seen them is asked to contact the police.”
