TV PRESENTER and interior designer Linda Barker started a fun run at the end of a successful three-day festival in the grounds of a care home near Tadcaster.
Linda, whose father, Bob, is a resident at Barchester Healthcare’s Highfield Care Home, also took part in the two-mile charity run yesterday.
The festival also featured a high tea on Friday and a party in the park, which took place in a marquee on Saturday because of poor weather.
Festival organiser Richard Sweeting said about 600 visitors were attracted over the three days, and the event raised about £500 for Dementia UK, Parkinsons Disease and MS charities, and for York Hospital’s Star Appeal.
“The whole festival was fantastic,” he said. “It brought the community together.”
