NINE fundraisers saddled up for a 132-mile ride to support Diabetes UK, the York Diabetes Centre and York Eye Clinic.
Members of the North Yorkshire Diabetic Eye Screening Programme team cycled from Skipton to Bridlington for the challenge, with seven of the nine participants taking part on all three days of the trip.
They stopped off at seven towns along the route, visiting GP sugeries to meet the doctors and patients who they help or could help using their screening methods, and encouraging people to get screened.
Shelley Widdowson, one of the riders, said they received a warm welcome from those they met.
The riders have so far collected more than £900 on their online donation page, and received many more contributions as they have travelled. They estimate their grand total will be about £1,300.
The ride has also been sponsored by Tesco Clifton Moor, Booths supermarkets, and Automotive Group, who have provided essentials during the ride.
