A HARROGATE student delivered a “dead goose” to London department store Fortnum and Mason as part of a protest organised by PETA.
Photography student Rose Patterson, 23, wished to highlight the cruel treatment of geese in the production of foie gras. Along with the bird, she carried a sign that read “Force-Fed and Massacred For Foie Gras.”
The production of foie gras is banned in the UK. Fortnum and Mason buy their stock from farmers in France, who force-feed their birds.
A spokesman from PETA confirmed the “dead bird” was a carefully constructed model, and that no geese were harmed.
