UPGRADES to roads in west York as part of the city’s Access York transport scheme will mean new speed restrictions coming into force.
The scheme includes two new Park&Ride sites at Poppleton Bar and Askham Bar as well as road improvements. A 30mph speed limit will be in force on several routes until May next year, unless the schemes are completed earlier.
The limits cover short stretches of the A59 and the outer ring road near the roundabout where the two roads meet, and sections of Station Road and Northfield Lane in Upper Poppleton.
Work closes road in Huntington
REPAIR work will mean a section of a York road being closed this week.
The work will cover the stretch of North Lane, in Huntington, between its junctions with the outer ring road and North Moor.
A closure has been agreed from today until midnight on Friday, but City of York Council said it only expects the road to be shut for a day during this time and signs will be put in place to indicate whether it is shut.
