PUPILS and staff from a school near York are taking part in a charity Race For Life tomorrow.
Girls from Queen Margaret’s School in Escrick will be running in the event at Town Fields, in Doncaster. They are hoping to top the £7,000 they raised for Cancer Research in the race last year in Harrogate.
Carole Cameron, deputy head, said: “It’s a tremendous opportunity for our students to engage in their local community. For many girls this race is very close to their hearts and we are very excited to be participating in Race for Life for a second year.
Runners from Queen Margaret’s will be joined by thousands of other runners in the 5K race, which raises funds to support Cancer Research’s work in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of over 200 types of cancer.
