I CANNOT understand the fuss being made by all the people in Dunnington who want to keep their little village elitist.
While I understand that bringing four or five travellers’ pitches into the village might offend their sense of exclusiveness, if they treat the newcomers well and welcome them into their lives they will be rewarded by the richness of diversity contained within the travelling community.
These people have seen life, suffered and been abused historically and deserve to be allowed to share in all the benefits awarded to those underprivileged folk living in easy street in Dunnington.
Bring it on, I say.
