IT appears that the planners of new developments are very short sighted. Saturdays, Sundays and bank Holidays generate a huge flow of traffic to Monks Cross. The roundabouts are often at a standstill, with long queues of traffic.

It would be a good idea for someone from City of York Council to spend time monitoring this from 10.30am onwards, then maybe they would listen to the people of the Huntington area who have experienced this for far too long.

We are about to receive two huge new shops, plus whatever else comes along.

John Lewis should be in the town centre for the benefit of tourists as well as citizens. We don’t need any more. Enough is enough.

Huntington would also benefit from having all the pavements resurfaced, especially in New Lane, as well as the roads, and not botched again, year after year.
