THE road train which transports visitors to York’s National Railway Museum was briefly “derailed” on the outskirts of the city after it got caught on the pavement.
A passer-by said the train had become stuck while travelling close to Station Road at about 1pm yesterday.
A spokeswoman for the museum said the road train had moved out of the way of a passing ambulance, which led to a minor delay.
She said: “As the train is not able to reverse, it took 30 minutes to get it moving and running with the help of the police.
“No one was injured and the road train continued its service up to the Minster.”
