FINAL touches are being applied at a top York tourist attraction before its reopening on Good Friday.
The York Dungeon, which was devastated by flooding from the River Ouse last September, will open its doors again - just in time for the busy Easter holidays – after a £2 million revamp.
The dungeon is thought to be the final one of a string of businesses near the River Ouse which were shut by flooding last September to reopen.
Owners Merlin have given the dungeon a brand new look, saying both sets and scripts will have a more authentic, theatrical aspect, with more humour injected into the scripts by comedian Tim Vine.
York’s most infamous rogues, villains and rascals, such as Guys Fawkes and Dick Turpin, will still be in evidence, but they too will have enjoyed a makeover.
