FOR A year or more, there has been a large steel pontoon-like structure moored in the Foss Basin. No work has been carried out on it for months and steel trusses and other construction materials have been left scattered on the bank side.
Although I’ve no idea as to its purpose, what I do know is that it is an eyesore which now appears to be sinking and rusting and may possibly be a source of pollution. My suggestion is that it should be removed, as it obviously serves no useful purpose, and sold for scrap.
