GRAHAM Cook was undefeated as he steered NEDL York Table Tennis division one leaders Bootham A' to a 6-4 win over Sessions A'.

However, team-mate Jon Wooldridge lost his unbeaten record to Mick Wilcockson. However, Wooldridge was undefeated in Bootham A's 7-3 win at Coneysthorpe A' and is top of the averages.

Steve Ayres helped Poppleton A' to their first win of the season - a 6-4 success over Groves A' - as he won his three sets, including a 13-11 success in the fifth game over Mick Kenyon.

Paul Robertson was undefeated as he helped Railway B' to a draw against Sessions A'. Holgate A' took the doubles to defeat Railway A' 6-4.

In division two, Groves B' stretched their lead at the top as they enjoyed a 7-3 success over Coneysthorpe B' with Phil Hall and Dave Jackson unbeaten. Hall, top of the averages, has only lost one set all season and he helped his side to an 8-2 win at Poppleton B'.

University A' failed to appear at Nestl Rowntree A', who claimed a 7-0 win. The confectioners lost 6-4 to Railway D' despite Keith Webster winning his sets without dropping a game and also helping in a doubles success.

Holgate B' are specialising in close contests this season and they shared the points with Coneysthorpe B'. John Eastwood was straining at the leash having been omitted from the side for the previous match, and he was in inspired form for Holgate as he won his singles and helped in a doubles victory.

Shepherds A' have resigned from division three which now leaves sides with a number of blank weeks.

Railway E' are the new leaders after an emphatic 9-1 success over BT B'. New recruit Jeff Cohen joined his wife, Jane, in a powerful line up and he was unbeaten along with Luke Blackburn.

Matt Ayres played well to win his three games for Poppleton C' against Groves C', helping his side to a 6-4 victory. This included a memorable win over Chris Hutchinson, winning one game 22-20, and edging the last 11-9.

Steve Milner was in determined mood for Bootham B', winning his sets without dropping a game as they overcame BT B' 8-2, although BT B' player Jim Stevenson heads the averages.

In division four, NEDL/Bootham won 6-4 against Norwich Union A', although Alan Wren maintained his excellent unbeaten start to the season for the losers, who remain top despite the defeat.

Railway H' won 8-2 at Norwich Union B' and top the division five table, with Andy Grayson maintaining his winning record with three victories. Poppleton D' won 7-3 at two-man Shepherds D', while Railway J' upset Railway I' 6-4.
