Lib Dem election candidate named

Nick Emmerson Nick Emmerson

A YORK lawyer has been selected as the Liberal Democrat candidate to fight the York Outer seat at the next General Election.

Nick Emmerson, who was born and brought up in North Yorkshire and has lived in York for nine years, is a partner in an international law firm and has lived and worked in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo.

The current MP for York Outer is Julian Sturdy, of the Conservatives, who won the newly-created seat in 2010.

“It’s an honour to be selected and I am really looking forward to getting out on the campaign trail and meeting residents and businesses,” Mr Emmerson said.

I`m tempted to say save your deposit and don`t bother, that goes for all Lib Dems actually, until you get a leader with a backbone you are toast.

can we trust a word he says.
That lying cheatin C Hulme desrvbes 10 years in prison. He has spent a year trying to get this case dismissed on technicalities and if he had he would have been holier than the Pope staing he was innocent and had been hounded by the media! All along he was lying. Frankly its digusting that a man who very nearly led the Lib Dems will get 3 months and may even afterwards resume his political career afterwards.
Already people are making excuses for him He has brought MP's into even more disrepute and should be barred from any political office for ever, No MP's pension etc but it wont happen and we continue to have untrustworthy politicians in office
Never trust a LIB DEM They shafterd the Tories on boundary reform Labour dont trust them and neither should we ever!

Casting a vote for the Lib Dems equates to putting it in a lottery that might deliver either a Tory or a Labour government, depending on which party the Lib Dems sell themselves to after the next election - assuming they still have any MPs to bargain with, that is. Anyone with a preference for either of the main parties is going to vote for their choice directly. Anyone who doesn't want either Labour or the Conservatives is contributing to putting one or the other in power if they vote Lib Dem, and anyone who imagines the Lib Dems are ever going to form a government themselves is delusional. There's no longer any point in anyone voting for them.

I don't understand the 'York lawyer' tag, he's lived in York for 9 years we are told (I guess about 20% of his life) and he doesn't work in York. Usual Lib Dem rubbish of local when it suits them or claim it when as here simply not true.
