TWO sisters from a North Yorkshire secondary school are set to appear on a new children’s television game show with their dad.

Tadcaster Grammar School pupils Megan Sanders, 13, and her sister Olivia, 11, will be appearing in CBBC’s Daredevils with their father, Jamie, in the coming weeks.

This comes after The Press reported last week how former Tadcaster Grammar pupil Daniel Pearson, 16, of Church Fenton, landed a part in ITV’s Emmerdale and is currently starring as Rick Barber in Dumping Ground, a follow-on to Tracy Beaker on CBBC.

The sisters will appear with their dad as part of a team of five on the show which is expected to be shown on TV some time next month.

The concept of the programme is that a Daredevil sets the teams challenges to be completed by the youngsters and their parents.

Mr Sanders, a contracts manager for a Leeds electrical firm, said his challenges includeded eating a banquet of fishy food with custard laced with fish eyes while Megan had to put her hand into a box with a snake to reach a key.

He said: “It was really great fun, the kids absolutely loved it and they got to see a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff. The crew were absolutely fantastic as well.”

Geoff Mitchell, the school’s head teacher, said: “Tadcaster Grammar School is becoming something of a hive of TV talent at the moment.

“Following on from the success of ex-student Danny Pearson with his roles in Emmerdale and Dumping Ground, we now have sisters Megan and Olivia in the limelight with Daredevils. I am sure all their friends and teachers at school will be showing their support by tuning into CBBC as they wait to find out whether the Sanders family win the show.”
