A Tadcaster hairdressers has celebrated its tenth anniversary of trading in the town with a donation to York’s St Leonard’s Hospice.
Dawson & Clarke, in Kirkgate, is run by Liz Dawson and Caroline Clarke. They held an open day with a raffle, and followed it with a stall at the town’s Christmas market.
With the help of customers and friends they raised £500 for the work of St Leonard’s. Caroline said: “We know people who have been looked after at St Leonard’s. As it’s a good local charity we decide to support it to mark our birthday.
“We are grateful to everyone who helped us make such a good sum of money at our two events.”
Judith Wilson, of the hospice, said: “It’s really great that Liz and Caroline decided to help the hospice on their special anniversary. Thank you to them and to all their customers and friends – they are all truly a cut above the rest.”
