WOMEN in York and North Yorkshire who have given birth in the last five years are being invited by the NHS to give their views on hospital maternity services.

The user forum, which will have sessions in Scarborough and York next week, is intended to help hospital bosses improve services.

Steve Hogarth, head of Midwifery at York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We know that there are mums who would like to help make a difference, which is why we are asking them to come forward to take part in a user forum.

“These informal events will enable women who have recently had a baby to talk about their experiences, what they found positive and any areas where we can make improvements.

“It is also a great opportunity for new mums to network, meet new people and make friends.”

The forums will take place at Scarborough Hospital, in the Postgraduate Centre Room at 1pm on January 29, while the second session will be in the LaRC Seminar Room at York Hospital on January 30, from 1pm.
