POLICE are continuing to hunt a man in connection with a violent assault in a York pub.
Police want to speak to Ryan MacLeod, 21, of Tuke Avenue, York, after a 32-year-old man was attacked at the Castle Howard Ox in Townend Street on November 10, needing stitches to his face.
The victim was attacked by a number of men in the smoking area of the pub in the early hours. Officers have arrested and bailed three men aged 18, 21, and 24, but are still keen to speak to MacLeod.
MacLeod is also wanted for recall to prison.
Poor behaviour and failure to keep appointments with his supervising officer at the probation service mean he has breached the terms of his release licence and he must return to custody, police said. He was released on licence from HMP Northallerton in June 2012 after serving 18 months of a four-year sentence for GBH with intent.
Det Insp Dave Kirby, of York police, said: “I would appeal to anyone who may be helping MacLeod to avoid arrest. It is an offence to help a wanted person evade the police and you too could be arrested if you are assisting him.”
