IN THE Letters page of January 8, the question was asked in reference to the new council offices, “if there is a West Office” was there ever an East one? No doubt one of our railway historians can supply the answer.

The writer then goes on to raise the question of what it will be called in the future. In a flash on reading this the name Alexander Palace sprung to mind, but I am only joking, honestly.

In view of our railway heritage, I would like to see some connection with the railways, possibly, because it is built on the site of the first station and because of its proximity to the present station.

Station House would be very fitting, but there again I am a railway man of 44 years’ service so I live in hope.
