A MAN died when the car he was driving hit a tree on the A645 near Eggborough.
The smash, which did not involve any other vehicles, happened at 6.50pm on Friday. The dead man is said to be 34 and was from Broughton in Lincolnshire.
A spokesman for Humberside Police said the man’s car, a silver Renault Twingo, left the road and hit the tree. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The spokesman said: “Police are appealing for people who saw the car before the accident.
“We would particularly like to speak to the occupants of two VW Golf motor cars, who stopped to assist at the scene.”

Meanwhile, a Citroen Saxo ended up on its roof in Bawtry Road in Selby on Saturday morning.
A 24-year-old man from Selby, who was driving the car, was the only person in the vehicle and was not injured.
The road was blocked for a short time after the accident at 7.35am.
