A MAN was airlifted to hospital with suspected spinal injuries following a crash between a Land Rover and a van on the A1.
The accident happened near Boroughbridge, shortly after 3pm on Saturday.
A male passenger in the Land Rover was trapped in the vehicle due to his injuries and 999 crews used hydraulic cutting gear to free him.
He was taken to hospital by air ambulance, suffering from head, leg and possible spinal injuries.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the occupants of the Mercedes van and the Land Rover driver got out of their vehicles safely.
