Barbican apartments plan to go on display (From York Press)

Good luck selling any of them if housing association tenants are pepper potted about the site and a lot of them too.

Just had a virtual trip on Escrick St via Google earth. Can't spot the Melbourne Centre....anyone know where it is?

Might have been easier for the developer to hire the excellent meeting facilities at the nearby Barbican.

Its the old youth centre building behind Fishergate school -right at the end of Escrick St

It is bizarre that the display isn't at The Barbican. I do with The Melbourne Centre would get some signage sorted out.

Maybe they hid it in the Melbourne Centre to discourage people from attending?

Why can't Persimmon mention the number of apartments they are proposing ? Just saying numbers are reduced, is unhelpful, and gives the impression that they are being unhelpful for a reason ? Is this lazy reporting by the Press, and why didn't they ask for more information ?

They will be priced to sell, and in the current climate/market that is likely to mean they will be cheaper.

Whether Persimmon will build them or not is another matter, and that will no doubt depend on the level of affordable units the council require ?

And going on the original permission there will be a lot of affordable and open space requirements amenity blackmail ! sorry contribution. So what we have here is a pr exercise coming round to getting the council to drop the eronious conditions. Otherwise they are priced out of doing the project.
