POLICE have issued CCTV images in a bid to trace three men suspected of being involved in a violent attack near a York nightclub.
The 19-year-old male victim, from York, was assaulted by three men outside Club Salvation, in Tanner Row.
He was repeatedly punched in the face and head, knocked to the ground, then kicked to the head a number of times.
CCTV images recovered from the nightclub show two of the three suspects. The attack took place between 1.30am and 2am on October 19, but the details have just been revealed by police.
PC David Scaife, of York Police, said: “This appears to be an unprovoked attack on a young man who was enjoying a night out with friends.
“Thankfully the victim escaped serious injury, but the level of violence he was subjected to could so easily have had devastating consequences.
“It is vitally important we trace the two men in the CCTV images, and hopefully this will lead to the third suspect being identified who was not captured in the footage.”
Anyone with information is asked to phone the police on 101.
