Fans brave rain to meet crime writer Ian Rankin

FANS braved the cold and rain to meet best-selling crime writer Ian Rankin at book-signing in York.
The Scottish author was promoting his new novel, Standing In Another Man’s Grave, at the Waterstones bookstore in York.
The queue snaked around the building in High Ousegate for the lunchtime “meet the author” signing.
The new novel sees the return of Rankin’s much-loved character, maverick cop Det Insp Rebus, who spawned his own TV series, starring Ken Stott and John Hannah.
