SANTA will catch a special train at the National Railway Museum three days a week until Christmas to give children a festive treat.
Staff at the museum in York have prepared the train’s engine, Teddy, for Santa’s Steam Adventure by wrapping it up.
The Santa Specials will include story-telling and presents for younger passengers, a journey through Santa’s Depot, otherwise known as Station Hall, and a hot drink and mince pie for parents in the museum’s restaurant.
Noel Hartley, the museum’s rail events co-ordinator, said: “Our Teddy is rather bigger than the standard fluffy bear but we’re hoping visitors will think we’ve got the festive season all wrapped up.”
The special trains run on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from this week until December 23. To book seats visit nrm.org.uk/christmas or phone 0844 8153139.
