Spilt diesel causes crashes in York

SPILT diesel was blamed for a number of vehicles losing control off Layerthorpe in York.

Paramedics were called after a woman crashed her scooter at about 10am and while they were at the scene, they also found a VW Golf had hit a wall.

The female driver of the scooter was taken to York Hospital with minor injuries and the 19-year-old male driver of the car was also given treatment.

I do hope the police report says it was diesel or no solicitor will touch it with a barge poll as happened to myself last December even though I had the diesel contaminated jeans that were cut of of me at the accident..

Why are you guys letting the poor reporting standards of a local newspaper come between you?

You are all correct, it should specify and it doesn't but the specifics could be almost be inferred using logic - almost because it could've been any day in history.

I went along Layerthorpe on Tuesday at about 8.55am and there was no diesel on the road... therefore if the woman crashed at 10am there is roughly an hour's timeframe that can be used to attempt tracing the vehicle responsible.

there was some spilt on the roundabout around the corner outside the Brigadier Gerrard pub as my car nearly went in to the railings that was around 10-11am Tuesday the 13th November
