PUPILS at Joseph Rowntree School in York are learning how to put their best face forward while getting out and about on their bikes.
Cycling charity Sustrans has launched the Beauty And The Bike programme and teamed up with natural cosmetics company Lush to show girls how to look after and protect their skin.
The programme aims to encourage young women to continue cycling as they further their education.
Sustrans York Bike It Officer, Naomi Wells Smith said: “We continue to see young women across the UK giving up cycling when they get to secondary school – it’s a disappointing trend that we need to address. By discussing the barriers that prevent young women from cycling, both image and safety related, we hope to encourage more girls to get on their bikes.”
