ROWNTREE Park will be hosting “stressbuster” tennis sessions from the end of the month.

As part of the Tennis Foundation and City of York Council’s aim to promote mental wellbeing, Andy Crockett, head coach of Tennis For All York and York Disability Tennis Network, will be holding sessions from Wednesday, April 25.

The sessions are being billed as a way to “beat the blues and de-stress”.

Andy said: “We are grateful to the Micklegate Ward, who have helped fund this project. We hope that new and existing players may find tennis a great way to exercise and lower the anxiety that everyday life can bring.

“I am aware of the stresses that work can create and I suffered depression and anxiety over a long period time.

“I’ve played tennis all my life and found that it was my way to gradually get back to full health.”

Players of all standards, aged 14 and over, are welcome at the weekly sessions. For more details, times and prices contact Andy on 07926 172 939 or email tennisforallyork@gmail.com.
