A prestigious abbey is gearing up for a day of celebration to remember Yorkshire's past.
A special ale has already been brewed for the big day, as the glorious abbey prepares to welcome visitors from far and wide for the family fun day as part of the Yorkshire Medieval Festival.
Benedict's Brew has been created by local brewery, Brown Cow Brewery of Barlow, for the big event on Wednesday.
The abbey is taking part in the festival, which began in York's Rowntree Park on August 2, alongside a host of other churches in the region.
Other attractions of the medieval day , which runs from 10am to 5pm, will include drama, music, wood turning, pottery, archery, birds of prey, a medieval bouncy castle, medieval style refreshments and a stained glass exhibition. Admission is free.
