THE live satellite screenings of the Metropolitan Opera’s Carmen, from New York, and Alan Bennett’s new play, The Habit Of Art, from the National Theatre in London, are proving so popular at City Screen, York, that each will be shown in not one but two screens.
These will be the first occasions when the management has decided to take up more than one cinema screen with the satellite link-ups.
Georges Bizet’s Carmen will be shown on January 16 from 6pm to 10pm; The Habit Of Art on April 22 from 6.45pm. In addition, the Met’s production of Richard Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier will be screened tomorrow in a single screen from 6pm to 10.45pm.
