HISTORY will repeat itself when Don Pears takes to the musical director’s podium for New Earswick Musical Society’s production of High Society, a musical that he first directed for the society 15 years ago.

‘This time we’re using the 1996 version of the show, which has more chorus involved than the original, as well as more key changes,” says Don.

Don’s wife, Jo Pears, is equally familiar with the show, having played the same part of Liz in the original New Earswick production.

‘There seems to be more going on and the bigger dance numbers, such as Let’s Misbehave, are great fun,” says Jo.

Producer Ann McCreadie is delighted that all the hard work in rehearsals has paid off. “This show has something for everyone: dance, comedy, pathos, romance and wonderful songs, many of them well known such as Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, True Love, Well, Did You Evah? It will certainly leave the audience with a real feel-good factor.”
