York poet Helen Burke is to perform a selection of her inspiring, funny, quirky and moving poetry tomorrow between 2pm and 4pm at Holy Trinity, Goodramgate, York.
The event forms part of the Churches Conservation Trust’s 40th anniversary programme at the church.
Helen is being mentored by the BBC for writing for radio and has won numerous awards.
She will be accompanied by Austrian-born poet and artist Heidi Rabenau, who will read works from her two collections.
“Heidi is the granddaughter of a poet, so with a pedigree like that it was only natural that she should be inspired by Yorkshire,” says trust publicist Dawn Lancaster. Admission is free.
