The rain came down in bucketfuls, but it did not dampen the enthusiasm of members of a North Yorkshire theatre company as they held their official photo shoot.

In fact when members of Tadcaster Theatre Company got together, to publicise their forthcoming production of Spectacular Song And Dance, the rain was the perfect setting for the Singing In the Rain selection.

In the end the weather was so inclement that the photographs had to be taken indoors, but five members of the cast braved the elements to make Singing In The Rain look authentic.

Spectacular Song And Dance will be performed at the Riley-Smith Hall, in Tadcaster, from Wednesday, April 15, to Saturday, April 18, with performances at 7.30pm each evening and a 2.30pm matinee on the Saturday.

The company will showcase songs from films and musicals from the 1920s right through to the present day. Chris Hagyard, from York, who reached the final 12 to find a Joseph on Any Dream Will Do has joined the company and will make a guest appearance.

Tickets can be bought from Gallery 42 in St Joseph’s Street, Tadcaster, or by phoning the ticket hotline on 0845 2255770.
