Creating a Michael Jackson-inspired production has to be one of the hardest shows to choreograph and direct, as the performers have to live up to one of history’s most renowned artists.

Yet the cast of Thriller – Live managed to pull it off, due to inspiring performances by artists such as MJ Mytton-Sanneh, one of the lead vocalists and a superb dancer. At ten years old, his performance was well executed and inspiring.

The show also featured Michael Duke, whose interpretations of Michael Jackson’s hit songs gave a new perspective to Thriller, and far exceeded expectations. The dancers were awe-inspiring, right from ABC to XYZ, to which they had the whole audience on their feet. Rachel Kay and Daniel Uppal were only two of the amazingly talented dancers, with many credits under their names. However, because all the cast had their own individual style of expressing themselves, they were unable to complement each other as well as they should have been able to. Nevertheless, due to clever choreography by director Gary Lloyd, it didn’t seem to matter as the audience looked on in amazement.

The audience was also educated about how great an artist Micheal Jackson is. It was a remarkable performance that everyone enjoyed, including the cast and the audience, so maybe we can forgive the unstylish wigs and costumes. A great night out with your mates.
