THE Circus Of Horrors is celebrating its 21st anniversary by taking to the road with its latest incarnation, The Never Ending Nightmare.

Visiting York Barbican on January 25, the show presents an amalgam of bizarre, brave and beautiful acts all woven into a Alice in Horrorland story driven by a mainly original soundscape and performed with a forked tongue firmly in each cheek.

Annually, the Circus of Horrors plays more than 100 British theatres and the Nightmare tour has expanded to take in festivals throughout the world, such as the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan and the Wacken Festival in Germany, plus shows in Chile, Uruguay, Holland, Belgium, Argentina, France, Italy, Ireland, Finland and Hong Kong.

The tour took in Moscow too, where Circus Of Horrors became the first ever British circus to perform in Russia, and the show also has played no fewer than ten nights at London's O2.

Tickets for the 8pm York performance cost £22.40 to £29.12 on 0844 854 2757, at yorkbarbican.co.uk or in person from the Barbican box office.
