PICKERING Musical Society rehearsals of their 2015 panto are well under way with Snow White and her Seven Dwarfs gracing the stage in January.

David Tester is once again in the producer’s chair with his fourth panto production for Pickering Musical Society.

The three previous productions, Cinderella, Dick Whittington and Beauty and the Beast proved to be very popular with some sell out audiences.

David said: “It is a real pleasure to be directing panto again. I have been fortunate to work with some very talented local people, who work hard to ensure that we put on a great show.

" I am sure that this year will be no exception”.

David said that he was pleased to have welcomed new faces to the cast as well as seasoned performers.

Marcus Burnside will be stepping into the dame's dress, with Michelle Carter as the fairest in the land, Snow White and Ruby Williams is the thigh slapping Prince.

Linda Tester plays the very evil stepmother and a whole host of youth members will be off to work as two teams of dwarfs.

The panto writer is Alan Frayn who is firmly established as one of the most popular present day pantomime writers.

As entertainment director at Alton Towers, Alan wrote and directed all productions there over a six-year period.

Alan likes to add a personal touch to groups who perform his pantos and he has sent David a message wishing him luck with the production and that he is happy to offer advice or support in whatever way he can.

This year Pickering Musical Society is delighted to have the backing, support and sponsorship of McCarthy and Stone, whose new development is nearing completion on Eastgate Road.

Luke Arnold, Theatre Manager, said: "Their support has made a tremendous difference to us and will ensure the continued modernisation plan for the theatre keeps momentum”.

Tickets for the panto, which runs from Saturday, January 17 to 24 are on sale from the box office which open every Tuesday 11am to 1pm or phone 01751 474833.
