THE Press has teamed up with the Grand Opera House, York, for an exclusive Fame The Musical competition for children aged 12 to 16.
“We’re offering the chance for one lucky boy or girl to win their ‘15 Minutes of Fame’,” says press officer Celestine Dubruel.
“The idea is that participants will submit a picture of themselves in their best Fame pose to The Press for the opportunity to win a handful prizes.”
Those prizes include:
• The chance to appear in Fame The Musical during the 7.30pm performance on Thursday, March 20;
• A pair of tickets and programme to the opening night, March 17, so that the winner can see the full show;
• A pair of tickets to the Thursday show, in order that the winner can bring a couple of friends for moral support and to see him or her on stage;
• The chance to meet the Fame The Musical cast;
• Your own star dressing room.
Based on Alan Parker’s 1980 Oscar-winning musical film and the spin-off television series, Fame The Musical is touring in a new production directed and choreographed by Gary Lloyd with musical supervision and arrangements by Tom de Keyser.
Booked into the Grand Opera House from March 17 to 22, the high-octane show takes a rollercoaster ride through the dizzy heights and crashing lows of a group of star-struck wannabes as they embark on their quest for fame at New York’s High School for Performing Arts.
Ambition, triumph, heartbreak and romance conspire to steer them off course as the pressure becomes too much.
Tickets for the 7.30pm evening performances and 2.30pm Wednesday and Saturday matinees can be booked on 0844 871 3024 or atgtickets.com/york
Terms and conditions: Photographs must be submitted as a jpg attachment by email to charles.hutchinson@nqyne.co.uk by 10am on Monday, March 3. There will be one winning entry. You must be aged between 12 and 16 to enter.
