ROWNTREE Players will move on swiftly to preparations for its summer show, Centenary Follies, after this week’s production of Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit.

A two-week break to recharge the batteries will be followed by an open invitation to the first meeting for 100 Years Of Rowntree Players’ Centenary Follies on Sunday, March 24 from 1pm to 4pm at Door 84, The Groves Rehearsal Rooms, Lowther Street, York.

“Centenary Follies, our centenary concert, is a variety show for all the family celebrating 100 years of Rowntree Players and will include all aspects of theatre,” says Players’ publicist Caroline Heppell, the director of Blithe Sprit by the way.

“If you have a hidden talent, we want to know. Everyone is welcome; children and adults. There are no auditions; it’s open to all.”

Anyone interested in taking part in Centenary Follies and seeking to attend the first meeting should email Claire Horsley at claire@rowntreeplayers.co.uk

“Please also tell Claire if you have a suggestion for a performance act that you would like to share, and make sure you wear suitable clothing for movement/dance,” says Caroline.
