JENNY Jones, the Hi-5 presenter on CITV, will play the title role of Rapunzel in the Easter pantomime at York Barbican on April 7 and 8.

Brought to York by the same production company that presented Tracy Beaker star Dani Harmer in The Wizard Of Oz last Easter, Enchanted Entertainment’s show will feature ITV’s Superstar finalist Jon Moses as the Prince and Eighties’ Blue Peter host Peter Duncan as Muddles.

Kay Purcell, best known for her CBBC role as Gina Conway in Tracy Beaker Returns and The Dumping Ground, will play Gothel the Enchantress, who will delight in keeping Rapunzel in her tower.

Andrew Crawford and Joe Chambers, Professor Poet and First Officer Ditty from CBeebies’ show The Rhyme Rocket, will be the pantomime’s cheeky chappies, Joey and Jape, the Jesters.

Enchanted Entertainment’s “hair-raising” new production of the Brothers Grimm fairytale about the girl with the magical golden hair will boast a full supporting cast and a band, song-and-dance routine and bags of comedy.
