Strictly Come Dancing presenter Claudia Winkleman will be hosting this year’s Glamour Women of the Year Awards.

The annual event, being held in association with Next, is taking place on June 2.

Glamour magazine editor Jo Elvin said: “She’s a personal favourite and a bona fide national favourite, with the TV Bafta nomination to prove it.

“No-one mixes glamour and wit quite like Winkle, and we are all thrilled that she will be helping us to make the Glamour Women of the Year Awards a night to remember.”

Claudia shared her delight, saying: “I absolutely love the Glamour Awards. I’ll be completely terrified but will try not to fall over with nerves.”

TV presenter Graham Norton hosted the ceremony in 2014.

Last year, Dame Helen Mirren was named Glamour Icon of the Year.

On collecting her award, the actress joked that being lauded as an icon was “weird”, adding: “If I’m an icon this year, by next year am I kind of de-iconised?”

She said she was “so proud” to be a member of the female sex.

Dame Helen, who was presented with the gong by Ryan Reynolds, added that she was looking forward to the ageing process.

“Forty is good, 50 is great, 60 is fab and 70 is f***ing awesome,” she said.
