Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are set to play a married couple on screen.
The real-life husband and wife have signed up to voice Zoe and Owen Huntington in upcoming animated film, Animal Crackers.
Scott Christian Sava, who will direct the movie with Tony Bancroft and co-wrote the script with Dean Lorey, told Screen Daily: “When Emily and John came in and performed their first scenes of the movie together… it was magic.”
He continued: “I can think of no other way of describing what they brought to the film. We had to literally go back and re-storyboard the sequences because they took us to places we never dreamed. Owen and Zoe came to life when Emily and John spoke.”
Emily and John’s characters inherit a ramshackle circus, and a magical box of Animal Crackers biscuits which turn the people who eat them into creatures.
The Blue Dream Studios animation will also feature the voices of Danny DeVito, Sylvester Stallone and Sir Ian McKellen.
Animal Crackers is scheduled for release in summer 2016.
It would not be the first time Emily and John have appeared on screen together, following their voice roles on the Hayao Miyazaki movie, The Wind Rises.
The actress last appeared in Disney’s Into The Woods alongside James Corden and Meryl Streep, while John will next star in drama The Hollars with Anna Kendrick and Sharlto Copley, which he also directed.
