CAN it be true? Are Led Zeppelin and The Beatles both playing in York this weekend?

Yes and no. Not the real Led Zep and Fab Four maybe, but tribute acts Hats Off To Led Zeppelin and The Bootleg Beatles will be at York Barbican tonight and Sunday night respectively.

In The Hats Off line-up for their York debut will be singer Peter Eldridge, from the West End production of We Will Rock You; Jack Tanner and Kevin Oliver Jones from the world tour and West End productions of Dancing In The Streets and Thriller Live; and Simon Wicker as late drummer John Bonham.

By the way, they are the only tribute band in Great Britain to be endorsed officially by Marshall Amplifiers, and tonight they will be introduced on stage by manager Warren Grant, son of Led Zep’s legendary boss, Peter Grant, who will be travelling up to York to see the sights as well as to oversee the 7.30pm gig.

On Sunday, The Bootleg Beatles will return to York for the first time since Neil Harrison hung up his Bootleg Beatle John boots last year at the age of 60, when his farewell tour included the Grand Opera House last March.

The longest-running Beatles tribute act will be on stage on Sunday at 8pm, introducing new Bootleg Beatle John, Adam Hastings, to the York audience.

Tickets are still available for both nights on 0844 854 2757 or online at yorkbarbican.co.uk
