SINGER/bassist Nick Oliveri is best known from his days with legendary Southern California rock band Kyuss, and his six years with riff-oriented rockers Queens Of The Stone Age.
His Punk roots - as Rex Everything, he was an on again/off again member of Chicago Punk outfit The Dwarves - bring a hint of danger to his singing and his stage performance.
In his Queens Of The Stone Age days, his "howling" style of singing made him instantly distinguishable on songs such as Six Shooter.
These days, he's fronting a revolving crop of California musicians who go under the name the Mondo Generator: and it is with that band that he will be hitting the Fibbers stage in York on Tuesday.
So what can you expect?
Mondo Generator's first full-length release since Oliveri's well-documented exit from Queens Of The Stone Age was this year's Dead Planet (SonicSlowMotionTrails). It is, according to record label Mother Tongue which released it, an album that "merges driven punk rock with Nick Oliveri's unique vocal and lyrical take."
The Manchester Evening News described it as "a solid piece of work bundled with masses of melody, hooks and raw appeal."
Judge for yourself on Tuesday - if you dare.
